SCHMITT HAPPENS...

Ok, first let me tell you about my evening, then we'll get to the update on my life, because it has been a while.

I get off work at 6pm. Come back to the apartment and make a couple phone calls. Look at my phone to see what time it is and also b/c I hear the chime telling me my battery is low. Realize it's almost 7:30 Lima time. True to Murphy's Law, which quotes, "things will go wrong in any given situation, if you give them a chance" (Wikipedia), this was the ABSOLUTE WORST TIME for my phone to die. I go to the car and search it and my backpack (just having recently returned from Morgantown for a certain Maryland game) for the cell phone charger. No luck. This whole time my damned phone is chirping at me, as if the 70th time it went off I still didn't have a clue it was dying. It's 8:33 now and I have 27 minutes until the stores all close, except for Wal-mart, and they probaby don't have what I need anyway. First stop, Target (this is sometimes pronounced Tar-jay by those more affluent than others who still find themselves wandering the aisles of a discount store). Go to their electronics section and scour the shelves to fInd cell phone accessories. They have everything for every phone BUT mine. I looked at the same things for sale probablY three times. I don't know, but I think I thought if I looked long enough and hard enough that it would just appear, my need being so dire. I give up and head out of the store. Upon walking out, I notice the Circuit City lights right across the street. I proceed to curse myself diligenty for my stupidity in not going there first, KNOWING they would have what it is I am seeking. Park the car in front of the store and go inside. Walk in a complete circle inside the store and then figure out their accessories for the phones are where I entered the store in the first place. I proceed to curse myself more diligenty. I walk over to the accessories and look through all of them. It's just like Tar-jay only arranged slightly in a more glamorous fashion. I get more pissed and by this time I am expecting the phone to flat line any second. It just keeps fucking chirping. I dejectedly walk out of Circuit City and hang my head walking back to the car. I resign myself to going to Wal-mart but I figured there isn't a snowball's chance in Hell they have what I am looking for. I park the car and walk inside. My mind has already wandered away and I find mysef aimlessly walking through Wal-mart. I am looking around and seeing home goods and quilting materials, some power tools, and a couple ceiling fans. I think to myself, "Holy God, I'm lost in Wal-mart..." That's when you realize how much Wallyworld sucks and you wouldn't want your worst enemy to be lost inside. I get a good laugh at that line of thought and find my way to the electronics section yet again. And Oh my God! not only do they have a car charger for my phone, they also have a house charger, and the kicker is that together it was only 25 bucks. I am pumped now and from then on it seemed everything just fell into place. I found my way into the CD section and was guided by an unseen but felt force to an awesome live Moody Blues album. Then I started to head towards the registers. A policeman is coming towards me so I give him a wide berth and find myself smack in front of the contact cases and solution, both of which I am in need of. So I grab those too and check out. The only bummer of the night was when I got into my car and tried to play the new CD and then remembered my CD player died on the first leg of the Chicago road trip. I got home, had a great late dinner and enjoyed a great Bowden Bowl, and I really think son got to Daddy tonight. Now it's time for the CD and some relaxation. I know I said I'd give an update...so check back in tomorrow. Sometimes its good to know everything is falling into place for you. Buenos Noches.

Ciao!!!
